Hornsby – Edgeworth David Community Garden (Saturday only 9am – 2pm)

The garden was created to cater for the many apartment and houses nearby who have no opportunity to grow and taste their own fresh produce. It is currently under the auspice of Hornsby Shire Council and will be 4 years old in October.

Our garden is organic and we try and incorporate Permaculture principles where possible and members share the produce. Currently the garden has 5 above-ground wicking beds and 11 raised garden beds as well as a large variety of fruit trees, banana groves, passionfruit, dragon fruit, cucurbit vines and herb gardens.

The garden has a membership of over 30 families and we have 2 scheduled working bees every Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 8:30 am in Summer and 9:00 am in Winter and we generally start winding up around 12:00 noon. We break for a lovely morning tea every working bee and this gives everyone a chance to rest, recuperate and enjoy each others’ company.
