Anzac Park Community garden was opened in March 2019. It is designed in the shape of the Anzac Star to complement the park and the Anzac Memorial with its rows of Turpentine trees representing the tough Anzac soldiers.
We have around 30 volunteers and many new friendships have been made through the garden. We have a selection of fruit trees and a variety of vegetables grow in the raised beds. We have herbs and companion plantings and insect attracting plants in the two herb beds. There is a small pond which is home to the Striped Marsh Frog – a common urban dweller.
We look forward to welcoming visitors to our garden. The garden will be open all weekend, but if you’d like to speak to one of our volunteers they will be there from 10am to noon Saturday and 10am to noon Sunday.
