Note: Workshops subject to weather
Our garden began its permaculture journey in 2012 with help from PSN and has had further ‘bees’ from PSN and PSW. The back garden has swales, a chook pen (shared chickens), a pond, wicking planters, fruit trees, veggie beds, native beehives, compost bays, ‘resource’ centres and more. The front garden has flowers and herbs to share with a little library and seeds available from time to time; grapevine, white choko, passionfruit, loofah, Madagascar bean, green jelly plant and blue butterfly pea
The children’s guided garden hunt, with their grown up, is suited to ~4-10 year olds. There will be short demos of making green jelly, water kefir and origami seed packets
You can compare 3 types of wicking bed. There are less usual plants such as tamarillo, tomatillo, cranberry hibiscus, galangal, mushroom plant, red celery, betel leaf, mugwort, apple cucumber and spaghetti squash
Cecilia is passionate about building ‘edibles’ communities and is active in crop swap and seed sharing. A ‘Take what you need, give what you can’ edibles stall is planned
Plants may be for sale – please bring gold coins/small notes
Cuttings eg mushroom plant, fruit salad sage, rosemary, salvias, elderberry, Indian borage
