We had been planning to buy on acreage but some health issues put an end to those plans and we ended up buying the house next door and turning its backyard into our little “farm”. It has enabled us to extend our growing space and to include multiple elements including chickens, bees, water tanks and much more. We are 2 years in and the garden still has a way to go before it matures but the goal is to end up with something that is part food forest, part raised beds, part family space – and something full time workers can manage.
