STORY

Our small garden space was launched in November 2022. Rather than offering individual plots, this is a shared garden where members can take part in varying projects and learn new techniques. To encourage broader participation and interest, art installations are incorporated in our garden design. We have also included an edible native garden and hope to reintroduce the native vegetation, indigenous to this area, around our garden space.
Our vision is to:
• educate our local community to work in harmony with their local environment
• experiment and discover ways to work better in our own gardens
• provide a space for people to find community, a welcoming group open to everyone – a place to inspire, educate, contemplate, and share our experience and knowledge about gardening.
We have created this garden following organic principles and low carbon landscaping concepts, using recycled materials and sustainable methods.
As part of our commitment to engage our community, we have held special gatherings to celebrate Christmas and Easter, and formed partnerships with the local preschool and Girl Guides. Moving forward we will be delivering workshops to showcase our local produce and the skills of our members.
