EDIT 1/11/2023 Saturday closing is now 2pm
Our garden has been evolving for 20 years and is an example of how to successfully grow on sandy soils. The garden is part of our philosophy of sustainability. Our personal challenge is to relegate the supermarket to a food source of last resort.
Complementing the garden is our sustainable house designed to focus on insulation and orientated to minimize the need for artificial heating and cooling. We have also minimized our reliance on tap water through rain water storage for use in the laundry, toilet and garden.
All plants in the garden are specifically chosen because they are edible not just by us but shared with other animals. We have created our own veggie environment which helps to minimize pests.
The major features of the garden are continually planting to ensure a supply of veggies and fruit year round, numerous composting bins, the value of chooks, bees (native and honey), grey water and drip feeding, frog ponds and water tanks.
We look forward to meeting you and sharing some gardening experiences.
