Q. WHERE CAN I JOIN THE TRAIL?

A. The Sydney Edible Garden Trail is a ‘design your own adventure’ event. With 40+ gardens open throughout Sydney you can start, finish and go at your own pace. Once you’ve purchased your tickets, you can login online to see details and locations of all open gardens. From here you can begin to explore.

Q. HOW DO I KNOW WHERE THE GARDENS ARE THAT I CAN VISIT?

A. One of the reasons why the Sydney Edible Garden Trail is so special is that we give you access to gardens that wouldn’t normally be open to the public. For this reason, and with respect to our amazing hosts’ privacy, we’ll only be releasing address details to ticket holders. However, before this you can view the gardens by council area here.

Q. IS TRANSPORT PROVIDED?

A. No. The trail is self guided but several gardens are close to public transport or you can car pool.

Q. ARE REFRESHMENTS AVAILABLE AT THE GARDENS?

A. It’s advisable to bring your own refreshments or plan your day to include lunch, and morning and afternoon tea breaks.

A. Unfortunately, only the school and community gardens are wheelchair/pram accessible, as a lot of the gardens on the trail are on sloping or inaccessible blocks.

Q. CAN I BRING MY DOG?

A. Usually, no, as many of the gardens have chooks, bees and other backyard animals where it’s not appropriate to bring your dog. But you can check with the garden hosts by looking at their profile and/or contacting them directly via their social media, if applicable.

Q. ARE TOILET FACILITIES PROVIDED?

A. No, toilet facilities are not available at the gardens. You can find the nearest public toilet here.

Q. WHAT TIMES ARE THE GARDENS OPEN?

A. Gardens are open from 9am to 4pm unless otherwise stated.

Q. WHAT HAPPENS TO THE PROFITS FROM THE EVENT?

A. Profits from the event are distributed via grants to local school and community gardens. A portion will be allocated to gardens that participated in the event, and a portion into supporting new school and community garden groups in the council areas where the trail is running. The grant program will launch within 3 months of completion of the trail.
