STORY

We named our garden The Family Paddock because our aim is to provide our family with seasonal fruit and vegetables as well as various meat sources. Achieving self-sufficiency is our goal. We were first inspired by the River Cottage TV series many years ago but have been keen gardeners for most of our lives. It has been an intense eight year journey so far and we believe we have another two years to go before becoming predominately self sufficient. We have so many plans for our property including more beds in the food forest, creating a berry patch, establishing some sitting/picnicking areas and creating some more native gardens to provide food and habitat to local native animals. The challenge we have is time as we currently work full time therefore when creating our garden we have tried to design easy to maintain beds and have installed irrigation systems. We look forward to showing and sharing our garden with fellow gardeners!
