My edible gardening journey began during COVID, when I discovered that growing food is both wildly satisfying and slightly addictive. Inspired by the Sydney Edible Garden Trail, I’ve transformed my small suburban backyard in Sydney’s Hills District into a thriving harvest garden, where harvesting fresh food is part of everyday life. Using a mix of raised beds, containers, and native and non-native edibles, I aim to create a space that is both beautiful and bountiful. As a member of a local permaculture club with a Diploma in Sustainable Living, I’m passionate about growing food sustainably for my family and community. This garden is deeply inspired by my permaculture-loving dad, whose love of gardening lives on through every harvest. This year, I’m focusing on establishing espalier fruit trees and fine-tuning what grows best in our little patch of abundance.
