STORY

The garden was originally founded in 2006 by a group of locals who wanted to use the available space around a City of Sydney owned building for gardening and as a place to meet with the community. The group, led by Ian Ferrie, designed the garden and built all the garden beds. The membership has grown ever since with now 30 plots in the garden. The majority of the plots are looked after by the individual members, i.e. most members have their own plot. However, there are also a number of communal garden beds and gardening areas.
The group also built a pond with frogs and installed native bee boxes.

There are weekly working bees on Sundays from 10 -12.

For the future we would like to run some fundraising dinners and explore the use of the building on the property for community purposes.
