Kentridge has been developed over 22 years. It started as mostly bare horse paddocks on 5 acres and is now a large garden with 42 raised vegetable beds, including several wicking beds. The orchard contains 90+ fruit trees. There are also areas with native bush tucker plants. Water tanks with drip irrigation and venturi fertilisation systems are in use throughout the garden. Other features: Native bee hives, an 8Kw solar system with Tesla battery, a greenhouse and a propagation area. The large garden potting shed is equipped with running water. There is a 15m chicken run for the ISA browns with grapevines planted to provide shade, 15 compost bins, 2 leaf mould bins and 6 worm farms. Other plants include flowering natives and trees, 200 rose bushes and 500 metres of hedging. This is a child friendly garden with plenty to explore. Garden tours will be conducted on demand and can take 30 – 40 mins. A new feature this year is a raised bed made from an old bathtub and recycled wooden pallets.
The garden is open a few times during the year for various garden groups.
Plants and seedlings will be for sale.
