STORY

The Miranda Community Garden (MCG) was started in early 2010 on a block of land adjacent to and owned by the Gymea Miranda Uniting Church. Garden members grow fresh organic produce and plants, share gardening knowledge and ideas, have fun and help each other. We have created a place where all members feel a sense of belonging to a community. At present we have over 30 enthusiastic members, the majority from outside the church congregation. You are encouraged to come along and give it a try!
All our garden beds are communal and garden care and produce is shared between MCG members. We do not have private garden beds in the MCG. To date over 30 garden beds are in operation together with some raised garden beds suitable for members with physical limitations and gardeners in wheelchairs. We have installed rainwater tanks, an irrigation system, garden edging, paths and multiple compost bins. Worm farms. Seedling raising pods. Gardening takes place every Wednesday and Saturday morning commencing after about 9.30am. New members are welcome to join the garden. Garden website https://mirandacommunitygarden.org.au
