I have always dreamed of a predominantly edible garden that has the appearance of a French provincial garden crossed with an English cottage garden. The house is set on a 450 square metre block with the house taking up around 50% of it. The small spaces, of which there are 4 main ones, each have their own challenges that have required me to become creative in how it’s designed and planted. Parts of it are established and parts are works in progress. Various methods have been utilised to grow plants including vertical spaces, organic hydroponics, container gardening, wicking beds, permaculture principles and worm farm/composting. Having 2 small children has made me more driven to be able to feed them healthy sustainable food, packed full of flavour but free from harmful chemicals . Helping to educate them on the importance of a sustainable ecosystem both in our land and our food sources and how it affects our health is important to me.
