ENJOYING YOUR DAY ON THE TRAIL
Here are some handy tips to make your Edible Garden Trail weekend more pleasurable.
PLEASE DON’T PICK PLANTS OR FOOD CROPS
Please respect the garden host and don’t pick plants, take cuttings, or collect food crops from the gardens. If there’s a plant you’re interested in growing, please check with the garden host, they may be able to help you out.
SLIP SLOP SLAP & SIP
Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat and water – it can be very hot walking around some of the gardens.
PLAN YOUR ROUTE
To avoid back-tracking or missing out on something plan your day or weekend carefully by checking out the specific attractions at each garden or by sticking to one area. Check out the interactive map for address, opening times and special feature details.
TAKE YOUR TIME
Don’t rush from one garden to another, take a little time to enjoy the
features of each garden, talk to the owners and learn from them.
FOOD PIT STOPS
Check out cafes and restaurants so you don’t run out of fuel while exploring the trail.
BEST FOOT FORWARD
As many of the gardens are on steep and uneven ground please make sure to wear sensible and sturdy footwear and note gardens that may be inappropriate for children.
