Our garden was inspired by a visit to Limestone Permaculture in Stroud NSW several years ago. Their 1 acre permaculture farm is an excellent demonstration in making the most out of a ‘small space’; utilising almost every square cm of land! Although our permaculture inspired garden is in it’s infancy, we have successfully grown and are growing many different varieties of herbs, fruits and vegetables.
We have an over-engineered chicken coop plus run, 5 raised garden beds, 4 no dig beds, 60m of fence which currently has pumpkin, watermelon (no fruit yet), passionfruit and beans. We also have a variety of established and establishing trees such as avocados, citrus, feijoa, bananas, mango, figs, finger and desert limes, etc. Vegetables in our various beds include sweet potato, tomatoes, eggplants, okra, zucchinis, cucumbers, garden salads (rocket, lettuce, etc) carrots, potatoes, ginger, turmeric, plus interesting and unusual things such as Okinawa spinach, Yacon (Peruvian ground apple), Madagascar bean, comfrey, sugar cane, Bana grass
We have a 3 tiered rockery with ornamental / cut flowers which was planted late last year.
We have a dog ‘Murphy’ – BC x who is very friendly.
